The SLZB-MRW10 is SMLIGHT’s latest multi-radio coordinator that integrates the CC2674P10, EFR32ZG23, and ESP32 chips in one device. It supports Zigbee 3.0 or Thread (Matter-over-Thread) as well as Z-Wave 800 (+ Long Range).
Thanks to its integrated LAN, Wi-Fi, USB-C, and PoE interfaces, the SLZB-MRW10 is perfectly suited for modern smart-home infrastructures. You can set up either a Zigbee or Thread network – and additionally use Z-Wave. Simultaneous operation of all three radio standards is not supported, ensuring maximum flexibility with clearly defined operating modes.

Important Note:
The SLZB-MRW10 uses the EFR32ZG23 chip for Z-Wave 800. The official Z-Wave certification is currently in progress and will be completed soon. All other functionalities, including Zigbee and Thread (Matter-over-Thread), are fully implemented and ready for operation.

Origin of the SLZB-MRW Design:
Zigbee, Thread, and Z-Wave – alongside other common smart home and IoT protocols like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth – form the backbone of modern ecosystems. Many users combine several of these standards to achieve maximum flexibility. Managing such diverse infrastructures has traditionally required multiple separate devices: a Zigbee coordinator, a Thread border router, and a Z-Wave controller.
While some commercial solutions support Zigbee and Thread simultaneously, they are usually bound to specific brands or closed ecosystems. This limits openness and flexibility, even though the technical feasibility of multi-radio setups has long been established.
With the SLZB-MRW series, SMLIGHT takes an open approach. The goal is to provide developers and smart home enthusiasts with a device that independently supports Zigbee or Thread (Matter) as well as Z-Wave (800-series). “MRW” stands for MultiRadio Wireless – this generation allows users to switch between wireless modes as needed.
Zigbee or Thread and Z-Wave – flexible coexistence in one device
The SLZB-MRW10 can operate either as a Zigbee coordinator or as a Thread border router. Simultaneous operation of both protocols is not supported. In addition, the device can run in a separate Z-Wave mode for evaluating 800-series functionality.
With correct channel selection (different 2.4 GHz channels for Zigbee and Thread), each radio mode works reliably and stably. This modular architecture makes the device adaptable to various platforms such as Home Assistant, openHAB, and HomeSeer.
