The SLZB-MR1U is SMLIGHT’s new, advanced multi-radio coordinator that combines the CC2652P7 and EFR32MG21 chips in a single device, providing full support for both Zigbee and Thread networks.

Developed for seamless integration with Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA, the SLZB-MR1U offers exceptional flexibility for your smart home setup.

In addition, the device features an integrated USB passthrough function, allowing USB radio devices such as Z-Wave sticks, additional Zigbee coordinators or UART modules to be used over the network as if they were connected locally.

Whether you are building a pure Zigbee network, experimenting with Matter over Thread or want the freedom to switch between different ecosystems, this multi-radio coordinator brings everything together in one powerful solution.

Where the SLZB-MR1U design originates:

Zigbee and Thread are among the most important smart home protocols today. Many systems rely on both technologies at the same time – often requiring separate devices (Zigbee coordinator + Thread border router).

The MR1U provides a compact, open and flexible solution that combines both protocols in a single device, without vendor lock-in and fully compatible with open ecosystems such as Home Assistant, ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT.

The MR1U uses the CC2652P7 radio chip for Zigbee and Matter-over-Thread, supported by a powerful ESP32 controller that handles networking, USB and PoE. With SLZB-OS you benefit from features such as autodiscovery, OTA updates, VPN support, scripting and easy mode switching.
