Where the SLZB-MR4U design originates:

Zigbee and Thread are among the most important smart home protocols today. Many systems rely on both technologies at the same time – often requiring separate devices (Zigbee coordinator + Thread border router).

The MR4U provides a compact, open and flexible solution that combines both protocols in a single device, without vendor lock-in and fully compatible with open ecosystems such as Home Assistant, ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT.

The MR4U combines two modern radio chips: the CC2674P10 for Zigbee and Matter-over-Thread, and the EFR32MG26 for high-performance Thread routing and extended wireless range. An ESP32 controller manages network connectivity, USB passthrough, and PoE functions. Together with SLZB-OS, you benefit from convenience features such as autodiscovery, OTA updates, VPN integration, scripting capabilities, and an intuitive operating-mode selection.
