Zigbee Switch with Energy Monitoring

The Sonoff MINI ONE PM (MINI-ZB1GSP) is a Zigbee 3.0 in-wall 1-channel switch with energy monitoring. It is designed for operation in a single-phase 100–240 V AC power supply and can switch resistive loads with a rated current of up to 16 A. Both the live and neutral wires are required for operation.

Functions and Operating Options

Energy Monitoring: The switch measures the mains voltage, current, instantaneous power, and energy consumption. The bidirectional measurement captures the energy drawn from the grid separately from the energy transmitted in the opposite direction, making it suitable for monitoring the production of balcony solar systems.

Switching Options: The switch input can be used with both toggle switches and push buttons. Selectable pulse, edge, and follow modes allow for adaptation to the existing wall switch. The Detached Relay Mode separates the external switch input from the relay output, enabling switching operations in automations without interrupting the power supply to devices like smart bulbs.

Zigbee 3.0 Communication: The MINI-ZB1GSP uses Zigbee 3.0 for communication and acts as a Zigbee router, forwarding the traffic of other devices in the mesh network. In Turbo mode, it operates with increased radio transmission power.

Bluetooth Proximity Mode: The eWeLink app can access the device via Bluetooth when the Zigbee gateway is unavailable or the network connection is unstable. However, a smartphone must have internet access or a mobile data plan to utilize this feature.

Compatibility

Smart Home Protocols: The switch uses Zigbee 3.0 (IEEE 802.15.4) and requires a compatible Zigbee gateway or coordinator for normal remote operation. It can be connected to Home Assistant via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT.

Integration with Smart Home Systems: The MINI-ZB1GSP can be used with various SONOFF gateways such as ZBBridge-P, ZBBridge-U, NSPanel Pro, and iHost. Additionally, it can be integrated with Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home.

Automation Options

Remote Control: The relay output can be controlled via the eWeLink app or the connected smart home system. The current state of the relay is displayed.

Energy History: eWeLink stores up to one year of energy data in the cloud and displays it in hourly, daily, or monthly views. If the Zigbee connection is lost, the switch stores the energy data locally.

Time-Based Tariffs: Different electricity prices can be configured for different time periods. eWeLink generates detailed cost charts based on the measured energy consumption.

Automatic Switching Operations: Automatic on/off switching can be configured for specific times. The switch also supports countdown and inching functions.

Safety Features

Overload Protection: The switch automatically turns off when the configured current or power threshold is exceeded. Additionally, there are protection mechanisms against overvoltage, undervoltage, and overheating.

Overcurrent Protection: The relay output is turned off when the configured overcurrent limit is reached.

Installation Information

Installation: Thanks to its compact design, the switch can be installed in a flush-mounted box behind a switch or socket. It is designed for indoor use.

Recommended Wiring: A wire gauge of 0.75–2.5 mm² for rigid or flexible copper conductors is recommended.
